Recognizing A Great Fit When You See It

Over the past two years we have added several new members to our SFC team. As we continue to look for ways to grow the quality and quantity of our business and fully service our clients’ needs, we look for the best candidates to fill the roles identified. Professional development of current staff is essential and often our current staff is effectively able to fulfill new demands of expertise and management. In some cases however, it is essential to recruit the best possible professional from a wide selection of available candidates.

At this time, we are pleased to announce that Austin Carroll has joined The Wildlife Company, a division of Southern Forestry Consultants, Inc. Austin is a Certified Wildlife Biologist, Certified Senior Ecologist, Registered Forester and Certified Burner. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from Mississippi State and an M.B.A. from the University of Florida.

Most recently, Austin served in Tallahassee, Florida as Program Manager of the Southeastern EcoSciences Group and National Aviation and Environmental Sciences Lead for Atkins, an international consulting firm. He has over 14 years of project management experience including resolving environmental-related aviation issues, natural and water resources management and policy, regulatory permit acquisition and compliance (including NEPA), and ecological research and monitoring in ecosystems across the southeastern U.S. His past experience has given him extensive knowledge of aquatic and terrestrial habitat management and conservation practices; wildlife and fisheries population management; silvicultural and mitigation area design and management; threatened and endangered species surveys, relocations, and management; and large-scale project management. He has established and coordinated partnerships among local landowners, citizen/civic groups, governmental agencies, private industry, academic and research groups, and non-governmental organizations to facilitate mutual interest and cooperation in achieving ecologically significant objectives.

We are excited to have Austin Carroll join our team. His skill set compliments our current efforts and the interests of many of our clients in new and exciting ways. He looks forward to meeting with current and new clients to discuss their natural resource and environmental needs. Austin can be contacted via email at or by phone at 850-559-6200.
